On Friday, the Canadian government announced C$39 million ($28.9 million) in military aid for Ukraine, including 40 sniper weapons, 16 radio sets, and a payment to a NATO fund to help Kyiv fight Russia.

Defence Minister Anita Anand presented the newest Canadian help, which includes rifle ammo, at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where NATO defense officials are discussing fresh military supplies for Ukraine.

According to the Canadian defense ministry, Prairie Gun Works will supply weapons and ammo, while L3Harris Technologies (LHX.N) will supply radios.

The C$34.6 million NATO contribution will assist Ukraine in getting gasoline and other assets.

“The donations and support announced by Canada today will help ensure that Ukraine has what it needs to defend its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity,” Anand added.

Since Russia’s invasion last year, Canada has given billions of dollars to Kyiv, including over C$1 billion in military aid.

Russia deems its Ukraine actions a “special military operation” against a security threat.
