Justin Pierre James Trudeau has been Canada’s 23rd prime minister since 2015 and leader of the Liberal Party since 2013. Trudeau, the oldest son of Pierre Trudeau, is the second-youngest prime minister in Canadian history behind Joe Clark.

Ottawa-born Trudeau attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. He earned a B.A. in literature from McGill University in 1994 and a B.A. in education from UBC in 1998. After graduation, he taught secondary school in Vancouver before returning to Montreal in 2002 to study. He directed the Canadian Avalanche Association and chaired Katimavik, a youth organization. In addition, he chaired the Liberal Party’s Youth Renewal Task Committee in 2006.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday that the U.S. and Canada must build a North American semiconductors and solar panel batteries market to counter “increasingly aggressive China.”

Before U.S. President Joe Biden’s speech, Trudeau said the two friends must “fight down totalitarian challenges, both at home and abroad.”
