The U.K. government said Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and U.S. President Joe Biden would discuss artificial intelligence safety at their Thursday meeting ahead of a global summit later this year.
The British government stated that the summit would explore A.I. concerns, especially frontier systems, and how to minimize them internationally. The event date was unknown.
British and U.S. sources said Biden and Sunak would meet for a fourth time in as many months on Thursday to coordinate their approaches on important and emerging technologies to bolster their economic security.
The British government said Palantir Technologies, which employs over 800 people in Britain, will unveil intentions to make the U.K.’s European A.I. development hub.
The government said Sunak would address the UK-U.S. relationship and how the two nations could cooperate to boost their economies and establish “joint leadership in the technologies of the future” with Biden.
