Brewdog CEO James Watt Resigns: Brewdog is a well-known Scottish beer firm, and its CEO has stated his intention to resign down. A co-founder, James Watt, has announced his plan to step down from his current role and take on the title of “captain and co-founder,” all the while keeping his ownership stake in the company. James Arrow, who is now the chief operating officer, will succeed him as CEO.

Since its 2007 inception in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, by James Watt and Martin Dickie, Brewdog has expanded substantially, opening breweries and pubs all over the world. With its headquarters located in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, the company has stayed true to its beginnings despite its development.

Success and controversy have been hallmarks of Watt’s time as CEO. Despite the company’s tremendous success, it has also been criticized for its marketing tactics and work climate. Investigations by BBC Disclosure in 2022 revealed allegations of improper behavior, which led to an examination of Brewdog’s corporate culture.

The company is known worldwide for its craft beers and IPAs / GETTY

Also, people were furious at Brewdog because they thought they were only paying their staff the minimum wage instead of a genuine living salary. Nevertheless, the corporation overcame these obstacles and recorded a revenue of £321.2 million in the fiscal year of 2022–23.

Following James Watt’s exit, Brewdog is now headed by James Arrow, who is well-positioned to continue the company’s success. Arrow is an experienced executive with a track record of success at prestigious firms like Dixons Carphone and Boots Opticians.

As Brewdog gets ready for what the future may hold, including a possible public market flotation, Watt’s transition gives him the chance to keep involved with the firm he co-founded while exploring new ideas. After he leaves, Brewdog enters a new phase that should be fruitful in terms of growth and innovation thanks to Arrow’s leadership.
