Bitmain, a leading ASIC mining device manufacturer, has announced a new bitcoin miner that is even faster than the company’s previous machine, which has a hash rate of 198 terahash per second (TH/s). The Antminer S19 XP Hyd., a liquid-cooled ASIC mining device that claims to produce 255 TH/s at 20.8 joules per terahash (J/T), is the most recent model.
Bitmain Unveils the Most Efficient Mining Rig to Date, with 255 TH/s and 20.8 J/T
Bitmain, a manufacturer of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), is making waves with its latest product. The Antminer S19 XP Hyd. is a new bitcoin miner from Bitmain that is even more powerful than the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd. machine that was announced in late January.
The Antminer S19 XP Hyd. claims to have a processing speed of 255 TH/s, which is significantly faster than today’s top machines, which only produce 100 to 112 TH/s. The new ASIC is also significantly faster than the S19 Pro+ Hyd., which has a throughput rate of 198 TH/s. While that machine will not be available to the general public until May 2022, the most recent 255 TH/s machines will not be delivered until January through March 2023.
Both machines are currently available for purchase on Bitmain’s website at the time of writing. The hydro-cooling miner will mine BTC, BCH, and BSV, according to specifications, and each unit will draw 5,304 watts from the wall. A single S19 XP Hyd. will set you back $19,890, and the company also accepts bulk orders.
Meanwhile, the S19 Pro+ Hyd. costs $15,048 per unit, but the XP is slightly more efficient in terms of joules per terahash. The hydro-cooling Pro+ units have a 27.5 J/T efficiency rating, while the XP units have 20.8 J/T.
The Microbt Whatsminer M30S++ and the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro are still the top machines today, despite the fact that both are currently unavailable to the general public. Bitmain doesn’t have any S19 Pros (110 TH/s) in stock right now, but it is selling S19j Pro units with 104 TH/s for $9,984 each.
With electricity costs of $0.12 per kilowatt-hour, the two aforementioned machines will produce just over $10 per day in BTC profits at 110 to 112 TH/s (kWh). With today’s BTC price of $0.12 per kWh and an S19 Pro+ Hyd. unit, a miner could earn around $19.89 per day in BTC profits, according to estimates.
S19 XP units with 140 TH/s are also available from the ASIC mining device manufacturer for $11,620 per rig. Most of Bitmain’s mining rigs were sold out last month, so the company appears to have ASIC stock on hand. The hydro-cooling miners are best used in Bitmain’s custom containers, according to the company’s website. The Antspace HK3 container unit, which holds 210 mining rigs and 1 megawatt (MW) of power, is being sold for $110,000 per container.
