President Joe Biden of the United States announced that he will travel to Angola, a trip that may signify a renewed engagement with Africa during a time of turbulence on the international stage.

“I have been there, and I will be back,” President Biden responded when questioned about his plans to visit the nation during a meeting that took place with his colleague from Angola, Joao Lourenco.

Biden did not specify exactly when the meeting was scheduled to take place. In response to a request for further information, the White House did not respond. The United States, which is running for reelection next year and is facing various obstacles in foreign policy, ranging from Ukraine to Israel, has garnered attention because he has not traveled to the African continent, even though he believes it is essential to global concerns.

Solar energy, infrastructure development, and space are all sectors in which the Biden administration finds itself locked in rivalry with China and where it has alsohas also sought. The two presidents were scheduled to discuss the possibility of collaboration and investment between the nations in solar energy, infrastructure development, and space.

During this, a consensus was scheduled to be reached on the Artemis Accords, a treaty to establish guidelines for the conduct of space exploration. One of the satellite programs that Angola has has benefited from help from Russia.

To circuit congestion and prevent delays on the copper and cobalt route, the United States of America has provided financial assistance to a project that would provide a rail connection between the resource-rich Democratic Republic of the Congo and the port of Lobito in Angola.

Africa is home to one billion people. “Before the meeting in the Oval Office, Biden stated that it was of the utmost importance.” “No country more important than Angola.”

“I’m eager to visit your continent,” President Biden remarked in December of last year during a conference of African leaders that took place. I look forward to seeing many of you in your home countries.”

Last year, Vice President Biden was present at a climate conference in Egypt for a short period; a period of deposition was conducted on the Sinai Peninsula in Asia. Vice President Kamala Harris traveled to Africa for one week at the beginning of this year.
