On Monday, physicians confirmed former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s persistent leukemia-related lung infection is improving.
Doctors Alberto Zangrillo and Fabio Ciceri stated that organ functioning had improved during the previous 48 hours.
On Wednesday, the 86-year-old billionaire media tycoon was transported to Milan’s San Raffaele hospital and treated in its critical care unit, causing concern for his life and gathering relatives and friends to his bedside.
Doctors eventually discovered that Berlusconi had Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CML) “for some time” and had recently developed a lung infection.
“Cytoreductive, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory therapy are generating the expected benefits, allowing us to express cautious optimism,” Zangrillo and Ciceri added.
They stated that Berlusconi remained in San Raffaele’s ICU.
