Giorgio Armani has stirred quite the buzz as he announced that at his Armani Teatro space, during Milan’s Men’s Fashion Week, Sept. 2014, he will have a new designer to show. Milan Fashion Week is among the most prominent events in the fashion world. Still, Armani has made a clever decision of selecting Christian Pellizzari for this position.
Christian Pellizzari is a native Italian born in Venice in 1981. He studied at Polimoda Fashion School, Institute of Design and Marketing in Florence at the age of 20. He then spent 4 years at the garment making company Tonello and then worked in fashion production and design in Paris at maison Vionnet as well as Jay Ahr.
Armani has invited Pellizzari to present within his treasured space. Pellizzari commented on this, telling WWD, “During my career, his talent, consistency and timeless style have always fascinated me. I hope to live up to his iconic theatre with my fashion show, as this is an important step for me in my creative and professional life.”
Christian Pellizzari is becoming highly sort after designer, becoming a recognizable name amongst the fashion business. He is a fresh and talented designer.
Apparently, Armani has given him this opportunity as a gesture that shows his endorsement of the new Italian generation of skilled designers. Armani joined the Italian Chamber of Fashion in Nov. 2013, and his actions certainly demonstrate his dedication to the Italian fashion industry. He described his excitement over playing such a role, “I like to discover individual visions and regain the energy that is the mainspring of success.”
There will certainly be a fair amount of pressure on Pellizzari this Sept. Nonetheless, such an experience will likely yield success. This seems especially probable when considering the other, new designers which Armani has invited in the past. For instance, Mirko Fontana and Diego Marques of Au Jour Le Jour faced tremendous acclaim their showing this past Feb. Although their brand was new, Armani actually appreciated their efforts to circulate via social media.
