Apple delivers ChatGPT to iPhones in AI update

Listen to the article now

The iPhone maker introduced the Siri revamp and other new features at its annual developers show on Monday.
A new customized AI system named “Apple Intelligence” intends to make Apple device navigation easier.

Other technologies, like text and content production, can benefit from ChatGPT. The test version will launch in October.
At the Worldwide Developers Conference at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, CEO Tim Cook claimed the move would take his company’s products “to new heights.”.
Apple’s share price slipped 1.91% on Monday, the announcement day, but markets were cool.
“Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI,” Musk told X. “They’re selling you down the river.”
Apple hasn’t replied to his claims.
Samsung insulted their rival’s announcement.
“Adding ‘Apple’ doesn’t innovate. The X post welcomed AI.
The South Korean corporation has undermined its rival before.
The bigger question for Apple is whether its new AI technologies can help it catch up to rivals who adopted the technology earlier.

in the world in January and early June, respectively.
Which is ‘Apple Intelligence’?
Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight, said Apple’s new personal AI system “should help placate nervous investors,” but its ChatGPT integration may disclose and deepen its flaws.
“Apple Intelligence” is neither a product nor an app.
Every app and Apple device will have it, whether it’s writing assistance improving your message drafts or a diary showing you the best route to your next meeting.
Similar to Microsoft’s AI helper Copilot, but you won’t have to pay extra to enable it.
To make using devices and apps easier, Apple’s 2010 acquisition, Siri, has a revamped UI and a chattier style.
“Arguably, this sees Apple admitting its limitations, given ChatGPT will kick in at a point where Siri is no longer able to help a user,” he told the BBC.

Apple’s speech on Monday emphasized Apple Intelligence’s security.
It said some processing will be done on the device and larger actions will be routed to the cloud, but no data will be stored there.
Customers who pay extra for Apple’s privacy pledges need this.
“Puts powerful generative models right at the core of your iPhone, iPad and Mac,” stated Apple’s Craig Federighi.
“It draws on your personal context to give you intelligence that’s most helpful and relevant for you, and it protects your privacy at every step.”
What does the OpenAI-Apple deal mean?
Apple’s integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology was expected, but it’s rare for a firm that shields its goods.
After its incorrect answers went viral, Google rolled back a new function in May.
Apple also forbade downloading programs from outside the App Store and using web browsers other than Safari for security reasons for years.
EU law obliged it to adapt.
Does Apple realize it can’t compete with ChatGPT?
If so, it reveals OpenAI’s present power.
The company said it would integrate other products, but did not name them.
Apple revealed that the Vision Pro mixed reality headset would launch in the UK on July 12. US availability began in February.
New features announced on Monday include sending texts via satellite, scheduling messages, controlling AirPods Pro with head gestures, a password app accessible across devices, and hiding apps with Face ID or passcodes.
