Cooling that Enhances Performance

Apart from the limited space and thickness, x14 comes with extra temperature control features and fan noise.

It uses advanced Element 31 thermal paste and vapor chamber technology that only comes with the NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU in Alienware x14 to prevent throttling and noise of the fans. Working on high-performance modes, the fans are quite noisy, which may irritate without headphones. But the Alienware x14 has a fan and heat control dashboard to manually set the performance, heat, and fan speed. If you don’t want the maximum performance, the minimum noise will be adjusted to low-performance modes.

Touchpad and Keyboard

A full-keyboard in a 14-inch laptop does not look good. The same is in Alienware x14; perfect space management is like half-sized function keys, keycaps are a bit smaller than that of the rest of the gaming laptops like X15. The multimedia keys on the most right column are fascinating. However, it is not that adjustable easily and would surely take some time for the users to adjust.

If the touchpad is concerned, it is small-sized and placed in the right position. But it does not matter a lot, as the gamers prefer to use an external mouse.

Ports

Alienware x14 features three USB-C ports. Two of them support Thunderbolt 4, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1, a combo audio jack, and a micro-sd card slot. Unfortunately, these ports are not there in gaming laptops most of the time.

However, playing a heavier game may work for one and a half hours.  But, it might not be so weak because the RTX 3060 in an elegant 14-inch package has a great balance of size and performance.

Compared to the same specified x15, it hardly costs about 50 dollars more. Though, it is not the actual reason to share it as the Alienware x14 review. So, the main features x14 are its less thermal headroom thin and light design. It has a more enchanted keyboard and a powerful processor; that’s a lot to sacrifice.
