Airbus edges towards 2023 delivery goal after 18% increase in Oct. According to corporate statistics released on Tuesday, Airbus (AIR.PA) must deliver 161 aircraft in the final two months of the year to meet its full-year delivery objective. This performance is slightly lower than what was witnessed in the last months of the previous year.
According to Reuters, the aircraft manufacturer acknowledged in a monthly bulletin that it had delivered 71 aircraft in October, an increase of 18% over the same month the previous year and bringing the total for the first ten months to 559 planes.
By the end of 2022, Airbus had delivered 166 planes. According to Airbus, orders for aircraft this year have reached 1,399, or a net total of 1,334 units after cancellations.
On Wednesday, Airbus released its nine-month results. Despite pressure on Pratt & Whitney’s (RTX.N) engine supply, Agency Partners analyst Sash Tusa noted that the business was not likely to adjust its full-year delivery target of 720 aircraft.
Due to supply issues, Airbus last year decreased and subsequently abandoned its delivery target, beginning 2023 on a poor note until deliveries picked up speed during the summer.
Leasing giant Air Lease (AL.N.) questioned on Monday if Airbus or Boeing (BA.N.) would fulfill their delivery targets; for Airbus, this was due to worries that limited engines would be redirected to support airlines in maintaining service. According to Airbus, maintaining its output is its top goal.
