According to the India Cellular and Electronics Association, India shipped $9 billion in cellphones between April 2022 and February this year, with iPhones accounting for more than 50%.

Apple inaugurated its first Mumbai store on Monday for a private event when bloggers and tech analysts reviewed the design and layout. It will open on Tuesday, while a second store will open in a New Delhi mall on Thursday.

Apple sells its products in India through resellers or Amazon.

The Mumbai store is located in Reliance Jio World Drive, home to Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Swarovski. Local registration paperwork suggests it is 20,800 square feet, much larger than the projected Delhi outlet.

Foxconn, Wistron Corp, and Pegatron Corp produce iPhones in India for Apple. India would also build iPads and AirPods.
