After a workplace misconduct inquiry, the Confederation of British Industry replaced director-general Tony Danker, with chief economist Rain Newton-Smith on Tuesday.
“The fresh CBI claims are horrible,” it stated.
“Despite inquiries, we know we made major organizational mistakes. We must improve.”
Danker resigned in March amid a CBI inquiry.
A CBI woman complained to the Newspaper in January.
A multi-charge inquiry suspended three CBI agents.
“The CBI is interacting with the police and has made explicit its resolve to fully cooperate any police inquiries,” it added.
The Guardian did not charge Danker, but the CBI stated he violated general director guidelines.
Newton-Smith, a former Bank of England economist, left the CBI in March to join Barclays as Managing Director for Strategy and Policy, Sustainability, and ESG.
Danker apologized.
“Offending coworkers is embarrassing. Sorry, inadvertent “he said.
