Besides the postseason, the All-Star break is every baseball fan’s favorite time of year. The league’s best gather once every year to face off and decide which league is best: National or American. For over the last decade the American league has won every year except for a brief National winning streak from 2010 to 2012. This year’s game is coming up on July 15, 2014 and is being hosted by the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
It is a truly one-of-a-kind game that transports the biggest names in the game back to a time where baseball was played just for the fun of it. While the All-Star Game is all in good fun, Major League Baseball still provides some incentive for everyone to try their hardest. Whichever league is victorious is rewarded with home-field advantage in the World Series.
