Max Kamenkov is a businessman as well as an entrepreneur. He founded SplitMetrics company that innovates software products for mobile phone publishers.

The company has its headquarters at Minski in Belarus. Some branches are in Europe and San Francisco. Some popular products created are SearchAdsHQ and SplitMetrics, which are user-friendly applications.

SearchAdsHQ is a special site for people using iPhones and iPad. It helps in finding ads for business analysis. Furthermore, it has some unique automation features for campaign management. On the other hand, SplitMetrics is a testing tool for Google Play and App Store. Moreover, popular companies like Google, MSQRD, Wargaming, Rovio, Flo Prism employ these two software.

Max Kamenkov founded two other companies before deciding to take the software journey. All the projects he has done were very successful. When Max Kamenkov is not working, he likes reading books and playing sports. In addition, he loves spending good moments with his friends and family.

In 2014, I was working for a tech company. We managed to develop a business-to-business application for iOS devices. After launching the app, Apple featured it in almost 100 countries. We were very eager to see how many people would download the app. Unfortunately, the results were very gloomy, the first month we only got one thousand downloads.

So, we questioned why the app was given higher ranks to many countries, but we didn’t make it. Finally, the board sat down to discuss how we could improve the app. Finally, we realized how our minds were clogged on tech skills rather than understanding how mobile app marketing is done. At that moment, we knew the importance of understanding the business side of software rather than our core technical skills.

Together as a team, we started doing our research. We even consulted people and other companies who have successfully marketed their app. Along the way, we even allowed criticism. Some people showed what they disliked on the app. When we realized this method was not the best, we sat down again to look for an alternative. We needed some unbiased answers. Online is the only place where we can find answers from all corners of the world.

So, we found out that people could interact well with our products when they noticed our presence in the app store. That’s how we started working on a landing page that resembles the app store. Since my college life, I have enjoyed participating in the hackathon. We took our idea at the Garage48 hackathon and took the first position. We then implemented the Splitmetrics version using a Rapid development strategy of 48 hours.

My typical day is prepared by my heavy and good sleeping time at night. At around 5:00 am, I will drink coffee to energize my body. Then, I swim into my to-do list, setting my achievable daily goals. I employ the Eisenhower Matrix, which will prioritize some of my tasks. To avoid unexpected problems, I make sure I plan everything in my diary.

Furthermore, I love using my slogan ABCDE to prioritize important tasks.

  • A – represents the tasks that I must perform during the day. This helps to avoid negative feelings about my job.
  • B -stands for those tasks, which comes after A.
  • C -means they are not mandatory, but I will feel good doing them.
  • D -represents those tasks that I can negate and push them for the next day.
  • E- those tasks don’t add value to your life, but I can do them because they can be helpful to another person.

This formula helps my mind to focus on critical things. So, for example, I don’t schedule any call to secure a meeting on Monday. But on Tuesday, I am very productive; that’s the day I work on complex tasks. So I prefer having communication in the first half of the day. Then, at showtime in the evening, I will go swimming and do a lot of meditation.

I am always open-minded and flexible to absorb any idea that I come across. However, before implementing any idea, there is a motivation that comes along with it. You need to fuel yourself and understand the concept better. Sometimes I will take it as option C, which is not a priority, but I feel okay working on it. Most of all, listen to what your heart is telling you.

When it comes to trends, I respect the power of artificial intelligence. This is when a computer tries to mimic human behavior and perform tasks in that sense. Many startups have been successful in implementing such models. This is the future of the smart world.

One of the top startups using AI is Yva which analyses the communication data from G Suite and Slack. Then after investigating several talks from employees, it’s able to tell who will leave the company soon. This information helps the manager be aware of such issues and work on something to motivate their workers.

Then we have People.ai. The company uses AI to predict sales in the marketing industry. The model comes up with the best algorithms to use the available data to make the sales team productive. This makes employees stick to specific plans to increase the company’s revenue.

This is the perfect moment where AI has gained its momentum. From the looks of things, AI will shape the world. When a model predicts what will happen in the future, it helps businesses to make the best decisions.

To remain productive, I read a lot. I can’t remember where I grabbed the culture, but I appreciate my middle school teachers. Those books have information that opens my deep eyes to look at life from different angles.

To a younger Max Kamenkov, balance your work and life. If you can combine your job with the family simultaneously, that might be perfect. Just come up with the best plan to avoid neglecting your people. First, make a solid relationship with new people in your field. Then, never be afraid of trying new journeys.

When we talk about the marketing strategy, I think it will be different in the next decade. Currently, we value performance optimization over team collaboration, but vice versa will be true in the future. But again, this is specifically for the software marketing industry.

At this moment, we have many channels that optimize the performance of some applications. Having a tool like discord or slack will ease the communication among team members. And this could be the best sales strategy.

I believe in getting first-hand feedback from our customers. So I regularly speak to them face to face. As an entrepreneur, you have to face reality. Let the final users tell you about their experience with your product. It has helped our company stay on top of the ladder.

As a businessman, I don’t appreciate people who give up. I know the things I can do when I feel like stopping. If you miss out on something, know everyone does that once in life. That might be an added advantage if you try things out and excel in different areas.

From the interviews I have conducted, I realized people don’t change. So the first impression you get from an interviewee will stick around. I learned this after our business went back due to the poor choice of the candidate.

To those individuals looking for a business idea, you can automate the software to advertise products for Amazon. This is the top e-commerce company globally, and it spends a lot of money on advertising and marketing strategies. They are yearning to beat Facebook and Google.

I use Google sheets most of the time. They behave like a SaaS product because they can serve as a CRM. It’s easy and simple to use. You can cover many tasks at the same time using google sheets. Furthermore, almost everyone can use the software.

Ben Horowitz left us with a good and wise book entitled “The hard Thing About Hard Things.” The book talks about the failures you got through before getting success. However, if you want a book about building a good company profile, “Delivering Happiness” by Tony Hsieh would be the best option.

Lastly, the popular scientist Albert Einstein said, “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” Make as many mistakes as possible while still young. You have the energy to pick yourself back to the challenge.
