With all the money that he has, it doesn’t seem like it’s enough for Donald Sterling to just keep his mouth shut. Recently the disgraceful owner of the Los Angeles Clippers gave an interview with Anderson Cooper in hopes of saving a little face after the well deserved embarrassment he has experienced. Though the aim was to make a case in his defense, all it did was further everyone’s certainty of how much of a disgusting bigot Sterling really is.
During the interview he told Cooper “I’m not a racist. I love people. I always have. But those words came out of my mouth, I guess. And I’m so sorry. And I’m so apologetic.” Someone should get this man a dictionary if he thinks he’s not a racist. Sterling has settled several lawsuits stemming from discrimination and has now had the honor of having his incredibly offensive remarks spread across the country. He claims that he was coerced into making these remarks and that he is just as much the victim as anyone else.
Sterling feels so “apologetic” in fact, that he used the interview as a chance to blast NBA great Magic Johnson even further than he already has. He stated that Johnson reached out to him and told him to stay quiet and that they would get this taken care of. Instead, Sterlings objects that Johnson led a media crusade against him. He then went on to discredit Magic further by asking, “What kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV? Is that someone we want to respect and tell our kids about?”
Well sorry to tell you Donald but you are someone that we don’t want to tell our kids about. Your words and behavior are disgusting and we don’t want you anywhere near the public’s attention. A lifetime ban from the NBA is a start and we hope that you will be forced to sell your team, sooner. Making a billion dollars does not make you a better person and there’s no room in today’s world for your decrepit thoughts.
